Interview Pieter Lingier
Interview Pieter Lingier
How would you position the typical Lytix/Cubis atmosphere?
It’s always been (and still is) a very familial and amicable atmosphere between all the colleagues and even the bosses! Everybody is always helpful, ready to help each other out and we also have quite a few of after-hours activities where we can meet up with everyone.
What are your specialties?
My focus within the company is mostly related to BW and HANA data modeling with Power BI on top.
What does an ideal project look like for you?
For me, the ideal project is one which I can follow up from start to end: doing the intake with the customers/business, modeling the data, building the reports in consultation with them, and delivering a product that meets their expectations. I don’t really like just having to do the technical side only, the mix is what makes it exciting!
What’s on top of your bucket list? (Personal or/and professional)
If one day possible: a lunar walk would be awesome or a spacewalk, but that might be too soon for our generation. Other than that, finishing an ‘Iron Man’ is a high-scoring goal for the future.
Professional wise: taking over Cubis! But on a serious note, I don’t really have a professional bucket list, or at least, not yet.
What do you miss most in corona times?
Seeing friends and family, going on field trips with the kids. On work level, I mostly miss the colleagues, being home alone all day long isn’t all that fun.
How do you experience teleworking?
I really having more free time to spend with my kids, being able to drop them off at school/kinder garden and picking them up, is really nice! But after this long, I really miss my colleagues at work and the day-to-day interactions.
What is your favorite book?
Game of Thrones by far! (Eagerly awaiting the last books, so hurry up already Martin!)
