The Challenge

To support their decision making, Barco has a complex BW environment with multiple reporting modules coming from a wide range of data sources, both SAP and non-SAP. To keep the reporting environments in sync with day-to-day and future needs, the data warehouse and reporting solutions are constantly ameliorated and adapted. In this light, Cubis has performed multiple projects together with Barco both in the back-end (BW) as in the front-end (SAP Business Objects and SAP Analytics Cloud). 

The Solution

Modern Reporting environment with SAP Analytics Cloud 

Barco has chosen SAP Analytics cloud to modernize their front-end reporting strategy on top of the existing SAP Business Objects platform. SAP Analytics Cloud brings great additional value with modern looking dashboards and stories that can be build by business themselves. Cubis has guided Barco in setting up this platform so that business users can fully benefit from the tool while keeping the central BI team in control of the governance. Numerous business lines have already adapted to using SAP Analytics cloud in the meantime! 

Getting ready for BW/4HANA 

As Barco is planning to move to BW/4HANA using the in-place conversion method, the company is gradually converting all BW flows to BW/4HANA optimized flows. In this project, Cubis was responsible for technically converting the CRM flows to BW/4HANA optimized flows. 

Service Desk Reporting 

Barco is using a service desk to keep track of internal request and incidents. In order to improve the internal service, it is key to have a reliable and automated reporting solution on top of the service desk application. By migrating the legacy and manual reporting to BW on HANA flows with SAP Analytics Cloud dashboards, Barco is able to better keep track of the internal tickets and it’s SLA’s. The SAP Analytics Cloud dashboards are visible for the whole organization throughout screens across Barco’s HQ.
